CHALLENGE
Most gym memberships have contracts tied to them; whether it is for one month or a year. That means there is no chance for gymgoers who are travelling to train, as they won't commit to those long-term contracts.
OPPORTUNITY
To provide short term gym passes to any user who wants to train at a gym on the platform ranging from day passes to weekly passes. Creating a short turnover high yield for both the user and the gyms on the platform.
Overview
Gymgoer is an app that facilitates short term contracts/passes to users which allows them to access nearby gyms in a particular location.
Purpose:
Gives users flexibility on which gym they want to use
Allows users to not be locked in to a long-term contract with the gym
Promotes gym memberships to those who are travelling for short periods of time
Challenges
Time consuming for travellers to find nearby gym with casual passes
Language barriers when travelling internationally
Lack of information on Gym facilities online
Payment plans are not practical for short-term travellers hence they pay for services they don’t require
Payments and waivers are a hassle to deal with
Solutions
Features and strategies implemented to solve the challenges in the Final Design deliverable
Gym Discovery
Search for Gyms near you with GymGoer, it's discovery process starts off with gyms nearby to users. Each gym profile card provides key "at a glance" information such as location, pricing and star rating.
In addition to this feed of gyms, an elastic search is available if users are looking beyond their current area, enabling future planning.
Advanced Filters
Looking for something specific? Gymgoer is geared up and ready to find the perfect gym for you. Filtering through items such as:
Location (Embedded Map)
Pass Types
Prices
Referral Code
In this project, I was in charge of designing the userflow and strategy behind the referral code. Key considerations for this process were:
Allocation of rewards towards users.
Re-direction of revenue towards the platform and gyms.
Having a referral system that invites organic growth.
Review System
Credibility is key with businesses such as gyms — providing a feedback loop within the gyms, users and platform allows for the highest quality of experience possible at every moment.
